Deluxe has become the place to go in Eugene to find a wise variety of unique DIY and Indie designed clothing, accessories and jewelry. Between the two stores, we carry between 50 and 75 different local designer’s merchandise on consignment, and are always looking for more. If you live in or around Eugene, design and manufacture wearable art, and are interested in selling it on our stores, simply contact us for an appointment.
Consignment
Deluxe and Kitsch offer 60% of the retail price of consigned goods to designers; 40% is retained by the stores for vending fees. Retail prices are agreed upon by both designers and store representatives. Designer’s labor expense and cost of materials are taken into consideration as well as whether a price is reasonable within the context of our store price points. If it is decided during the initial appointment that a designer’s goods may be a good match for our stores, a contract outlining all of our terms and conditions of consignment is signed by both parties. At this point an inventory and price list is drawn up by the store representative and the designer’s merchandise is made available to our shoppers for a trail period of three months. After three months, the situation can be re-assessed by both parties and a determination can be made as to whether the designer wants to continue selling at our stores on an ongoing basis. Designers can add or remove products from our stores at any time throughout this process.
Collecting money
We leave it up to the designer to contact the stores whenever they want to collect money for their merchandise that has sold. This allows for Designer to be accommodated based on their individual needs or personal preferences—some designers like to check in with us bi-weekly, while others prefer bi-monthly, as an example. We can tell designers at any time how much of their merchandise has been sold, then arrangements can be made to collect money for these “sold” items. Designers can arrange to collect a check, or have one sent to them, or even purchase resale merchandise at our stores at 1.5 times the amount owed them for sold items (or a combination).
